How do I go on without you
always being by my side?
For you gave me reassurance
when my fears I would confide.
Where do I find the strength
if I don't have you near
To help me carry my burdens
like you did when you were here?
What will I do without you
when happiness I have to share?
For a part of me is saddened
when I realize you're not there.
Why does my heart still yearn
to have you here with me?
When I know that you are whole again
and where you ought to be.
When will this aching in my soul
subside so I can feel
The joy you always brought to me
preserved in memories still?
When going through this time of grief
many answers seem obscure
Yet there is one through all of this of which I can be sure.
My God will be here for me
so I need not question who
For He'll be my source of comfort
as I face my loss of you.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows."   II Corinthians 1:3-5

In loving memory of my mom
who will always be a
part of my heart

Father, I know that without You, this page would not be possible for it is Your gift to me that allows me to express what is on my heart.  Thank you Lord for seeing me through the difficult times and for always reaching out and lifting me up when I call out to You.  I pray  that Your Holy Spirit will reach through these pages and touch the lives of those who visit.  May their lives never be the same again.  Bless each of them exceedingly above all that they could ever even think to hope for and may Your name be glorified forever. More of you and less of me, Lord.... IN Jesus name I pray.. amen and amen.
Song:  "You Are My Hiding Place"
Special thanks to Amy for use of some of her graphics on here and for
being a true friend in time of need..
God bless you, Sis !
You are my hiding place,
You always fill my heart
with songs of deliverance.
Whenever I'm afraid
I will trust in you.
I will trust in you,
let the weak say,
"I am strong in the strength of my Lord."
Hi Friend ~ The joy of the Lord to YOU!

When a close friend's mother passed away, I knew the pain that she was experiencing first hand.. it was one of those, "been there, done that" situations.  Even though my own mother had passed away almost seventeen years before, I still know the depth of the pain that is involved when you lose someone you care so very much for.  They say time heals all wounds.. it may smooth it over some and it may not be in your face everyday.. but there are still and will always be certain things or special days when you feel all too well the same pain you did when you first lost your loved one.  Praise God that He has given us His Comforter to see us through the hurting moments in our lives.

The inspiration behind this poem was the loss of my mother.  It was written for Jane Watson, my friend and pastor's wife, when she lost her own mother.

May the Lord be with each of you who have loved ones that have gone on before you.  May you experience the peace that passeth all understanding in your lives.

Love in Christ,
'not I, but Christ"
