I've tried it my way, Lord
It just can't be done
Because we're walking as two
instead of as one.
I want to know You in a way, Lord,
I've never known You before,
To be filled with Your presence
'til there's no room for more.
So here I am, Lord,
Come live in this place;
A heart broken and yielded
That's seeking Your face.
What I desire the most,
This longing deep in my heart,
Will never be satisfied
While we're yet still apart.
All that I've clung to,
All I've held dear,
When removed from between us
Will let You draw near.
So I fall to my knees,
Surrender all that is me,
For it's in dying to self
That I'll receive victory.
Take all that was me, Lord,
Replace it with all that is true
Until nothing remains
But that which is You.

"not I, but Christ"
Galatians 2:20
"Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the
hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it."
Jeremiah 18:3,4
I am but as clay in the potters hands.
Silently I scream, "Why do you make me this way?"
The potter is quiet, very quiet.
And as I also become quiet, I see
that He is always working the clay,
always working the clay.
As I inspect the vessel, now I see
it being shaped into an image of unimaginable beauty,
an object of honor.
And the Potter cracks a smile.
Billy Sanborn
Don't be impatient and try to hurry these hands.
When the vessel is finished you will see,
Patience was part of the shape
that the finished work demands.
George Kutney
A very special thank you to a most delightful friend and wonderful brother in Christ, Billy Sanborn, and his friend, George Kutney, for allowing me to use the two poems above.  God bless you both in a mighty way for all you do in furthering the Kingdom of God!
In Galatians 2:20 Paul says,
"I am crucified with Christ:  nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:
and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me,
and gave Himself for me."

God is desiring for His people to die to their own efforts at trying to make it in this world, and turn to Him instead and let Him become their righteousness as His Word says.

The song playing on this page is I and I Alone by Peter Casey and Michael Lehr.  Follow along with the words below and hear what the Lord is wanting to speak to your heart.
I and I alone, there is no other,
No other way to life, no way to stand.
Here you lie where I lay, forsaken in the tomb;
Can you accept my hand, and rise with me?
I and I alone can tell the secret,
The knowledge and the meaning and the sign.
Can you trust your weary life to dangerous belief,
Release your mooring-line, and soar with me?

I alone am the stars and moon,
The light, the truth and the end of time;
I alone am the hidden tune
That haunts each empty soul that's forgotten its rhyme.

I and I alone am your beginning,
Beginning and the end and all between.
Can you tread the lonely road you'll find to be myself,
Be all that I have been, and die with me?
And die with me? (And rise with me?)
And die with me? (And soar with me?)
Can you rise?

If you have never received Jesus into your heart as Lord and Savior, then there is a page you need to visit called, "Meeting Jesus, Our Savior"   Click the picture above to go to this page and let God do the work in your heart that needs to be done.

Father, You are so gracious to us.  You never fail to continue reaching out to us and speaking Your Word into our hearts so that we can continue to draw closer to You.  You ask nothing but for us to allow You to do the work in us that You desire to do.  Lord, I know that it is not always easy to lay aside our own agendas.  We are raised in a culture that encourages us to be self sufficient, but that is not how it works in the Kingdom of God.  You are our sufficiency and You alone know what is best for us.  Until we lay down our lives and commit every aspect of it into Your hands, we will continue to walk separated from You to some degree.  This is not how You would have it to be, Father, we know that.  Help us to die to the nature of the flesh and rise with You in newness of life.  Let our hearts become yielded to the work of Your hands in all ways, Lord.  Your Word says a broken and contrite heart You will not despise.  Give us the strength and courage to trust in You totally, Lord, and know that by surrendering all we gain all, Father.  We thank You for the gift of Your Son that has made this life of victory possible.  Continue to guide and direct us always and make us into vessels of honor set aside for doing Your work as You see fit, Lord.  I ask You to bless each visitor to this page, Father.  Give them understanding in the things that have been mentioned and place a burning desire within them for a closer walk with You.  Be with those who have come here and do not know of Your mercy and grace... draw them with Your Holy Spirit and let this be the day of their salvation.  Please also be with those who are down trodden and discouraged, those who are weary and need strength to carry on, those who are in need of a touch of the Master's hand for healing of mind, body, spirit or soul.  You know the needs of each, Lord.  I ask that You reach out to them and let them feel Your presence this day.  I thank You for the way in which You will answer every prayer, Lord, in accordance to Your good and perfect will for each.  All glory, honor and praise to You, Lord.  Amen and Amen.

Hi Friend ~ the joy of the LORD to you !!!

This is one section of Sherry's Heartbeats that will constantly be growing and changing as I am always growing and being changed by the Lord on a continual basis.  As clay in the potter's hands, there are times when major restoration is needed that might even result in having to start all over again and other times when some of the minor imperfections just still need to be smoothed out.  God will do the remolding in our lives that needs to be done, our part is just to let Him ... to be that clay that is pliable and able to be worked with.  When we become hardened and set in our own ways, that is when the breaking comes into play... and when God does the breaking that is a good thing really because then He can begin that work again in us.  Like many of you visiting this page, I want to be that yielded vessel that can be filled and poured out by Him for His good use as He sees fit.  The more I surrender to Him, the more He can do this.  So it's time to die to self and cease to trying to do things my way, and just let God take over and have full reign in my life.

I wrote the poem at the top of this page, The Yielded Vessel, shortly after a revival in our church.  The evangelist who came is not your typical evangelist but has a ministry of discipleship and building up of the body of Christ.  His messages came at a time following some major restoration in my walk of faith and the very long process of getting back to where I really felt secure in the Lord again.  Even though I trusted the Lord with most every aspect of my life, I still clung to certain areas that I found it very hard to relinquish totally into His hands.  It seems like God is very content at times in continuing to let us just keep butting our heads against the walls until we finally get the hint that we are merely doing just that and getting nowhere because He never told us it was our job to handle the situation to begin with.  We do so love to just try and help God out at times, don't we?  I can't help but smile when I see this picture flash through my mind of Him standing there looking down with a smirk and shaking His head wondering to Himself, "When is she ever gonna learn??"  :  )  We can make things so hard on ourselves when it could be sooo easy if we'd just trust Him.  I don't know about you, but I am continually having to remind myself to take my little grubby hands off things and just let go and let God be God.   Maybe one day between now and when Jesus comes back, I'll get it all down pat  :  )  I'll just keep trusting God for it until then ... oh yeah!

I pray that this page gives you something to think about.  That through it, the Lord will speak to your heart and place a desire in your heart also to just let go and let God be God.

May the Lord bless you as He alone is abundantly able and desiring to do.
